2009 Spring/Summer Shoe Trends

It’s time to kick off those winter boots and set your toes free in a pair of sassy sandals. Of course, a pedicure may be in order before you do that, but until then put spring in your step with our guide to the hottest shoe trends for spring/summer 2009.

The New Bling

Spring is here and so are the beautiful fresh colours that come with it! Go bright and bold this season with super citrus-y oranges and yellows.

Artform

Don’t be a heel - get sculpted! Catwalks are teeming with glorious sculptured heels – go glam with Madonna’s Chanel pistol heels, or tone it down for the office with simple cut-outs.

Roowwwrrr!

This season, animal and reptile prints are as hot as the savannas these exotic creatures call home. Add extra sizzle and calf-lengthening pizazz with a platform sole.

Gladiator Glam

Gladiator sandals have fought their way back into the spotlight for a second season. Flats are still cool, but new takes on the traditional include fab high heels, and hot colours and textures.

Wicked Wedges

The wedge marries comfort and added height in one simple design. Look for spring/summer favourites like cork or rattan wedges.

Flat Out

We love flatties! From comfort to versatility, the classic flat has it all and thankfully we have another season to enjoy this beloved little shoe.

Put a Cork in it!

Cork soles are HUGE this year - in more ways than one! Bigger is better, so go for a wedge or a platform design when it comes to choosing a cork-soled shoe.

Raining Cats & Dogs

at Hatley

April showers might bring May flowers, but they also bring sloppy wet shoes. Rubber boots are comfortable, stylish, and totally chic for a rainy walk into the office.
