Green is the color of choice these days so be sure to opt for items made from recycled, renewable or organic materials.  Keeping the health of the planet in mind may even mean finding more unique and original garments and accessories.  Now that’s trend-setting!

Laundry

Need to replace your washer and dryer? Why not opt for an energy efficient model?  The choice will save you money on your monthly utility bills while preserving energy. If new appliances are not in the budget, try switching to eco-friendly cleaning products and air drying your clothes.

Our Eco-Tip:  Do your laundry in cold water.  It saves energy and your clothes are less likely to fade.  Who said doing your part was a sacrifice!?

Say No To Plastic!

Carry your lunch in a reusable bag.  If you think about it, cutting back on one plastic bag a day equals 365 bags less in a landfill. 

Our Eco-Tip: Shop daily for your groceries.  You will waste less food, enjoy fresher produce, and be able to carry everything in reusable cloth bags. 
 

Mood Lighting your Garden

Energy-saving solar lighting will add a romantic ambiance to your garden without the excessive hike in energy bills.  Solar lighting is just as effective as the electric or battery operated varieties, without the waste!

Lawn Care

Unless your lawn is super sized, you can easily switch to a solar lawnmower.  You may have to fork out a little more for the investment upfront, but you’ll recover the difference in no time by using the sun as your power source. 

The old-fashioned manual mower has made a huge comeback.  It's not only an enviromentally concientious choice but also a great workout because the only energy source required to power it is you!

For the Car

Even if a Hybrid is not in this year’s budget, you can still use biodegradable or solar products to take care of your current car, its battery, and your driveway.  Every little bit counts!
